Why an Egyptian Parliament Abroad?
Elected legitimate Egyptian Parliament Abroad is based on the international legitimacy as first palriament representing Egyptian people resulting from real eal fair elections. It was also the result of 25th of January Revolutionto eliminate corruption and tyranny and achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian people which were overthrown by the military coup in July 2013.
this legitimacy emerged from votes of 32 million voters in an unprecedented elections in the history of Egypt.
Egypt Parliament Abroad held its first general session in Istanbul, Turkey on 20\12\2014.
Egypt parliament Abroad consists of 80 MPs spread over a number of countries in Africa Europe Asia and America in addition to chased MPs in Egypt.
Since the beginning of the coup 4 MPs were killed, 2 of them as a result of medical negligence in detention and 2 by shooting by the coup junta.
98 MPs are currently in detention apart from 60 MPs were previously detained, apart fromm 80 MPs abroad and 55 chased inside Egtypt and can not either flee the country of live freely in it.
EPA acctivities include the Board and general committee in addition to 7 committees as follows, legislative, economic, defence and national security, foreign relations, agriculture and irrigaton, manpower and human rights.
EPA issued the law no. 2, 2015 regarding nullification of all acts and laws and administrative decisions whatever they are issued by the coup authority including oonstitutional declarations, constitutions and laws as well as international treaties.
EPA has issued dozens of reports and studies in different legislative, ecoonomic, legal, national security, agriculture and manpower fields.
EPA has issued hundreds of statements concerning major Egyptian and international issues.
EPA has met with parlaiamentarian delegation of different world such as Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Turkey, Libya and Indonesia.
EPA held several press conferences on major issues that affect Egyptian Affairs.
Several visits of EPA Speaker and MPs to different countries such as US, UK, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Belgium, Sweden, Norway and Malaysia.
